Description
Chadino – that’s pure world-class! Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, World Equestrian Games in Caen, twice the World Cup finals in Omaha and Paris & around 20 international CSI5* 1.60 m placings – this is just a glimpse at Chadino’s impressive international dream career!
Initially ridden by Ferenc Szentirmai for Ukraine and later by the world-class French rider Simon Delestre, Chadino performed excellently in top-level 5* competition as an extremely reliable and successful partner. Chadino was a regular guest on the Longines Global Champions Tour, an important part of Nations Cups, and thrilled in two outstanding World Cup seasons. During his active career, Chadino and Simon Delestre ranked among the top ten in the FEI World Ranking! Ten years of consistent performance at the highest international level impressively attest to Chadino’s physical robustness and mental strength. Now 21 years old, Chadino still exudes strength and beauty.
Talking about Chadino with Simon Delestre today, he gets quite emotional. “Chadino! Such a sweet horse – he gives you a feeling like being in heaven”, that’s said by him spontaneously when asking him about his long-lasting sports partner. In times of his joint sports career Simon Delestre posted steadily his delight about Chadino on his Instagram account and gave insights into their sport stages all around the world. “A fantastic horse”, is Simon Delestre’s summary, which brings the extraordinary quality and special sports spirit of this stallion with only three words on the point.
Chadino unites all important qualities of a top athlete, but he especially stands out due to his fighting spirit combined with coolness and an absolutely lovely character in the everyday engagement. Chadino’s owner Sanjay Bagaj and Phoebe Lang, who domiciled him in the USA and competed him successfully on 3* level after finishing his career with Simon Delestre, describe Chadino as “a gentle lion – a horse that walks into the ring flirting with the grooms and leaves it as a 17-hand fire-breathing dragon”. At Bonhomme stud, too, Chadino captured all hearts right away. Even at the age of 21, Chadino embodies simply the “grandezza” of a superstar with his charming manner, his smart eyes and his positive aura.
Chadino’s performance in the jumping-course was always characterized by an enormous basis speed, intelligence and flexible body reactions. The actually self-explanatory matter in view of jumping-ability was clearly proven by Chadino, when he won the six-bar-class with a final height of 1.92 m on the occasion of the Longines Masters in Paris.
Chadino’s sire is none other than the exceptional sire and long-time leading stallion of the WBFSH rankings, Chacco-Blue himself. Chacco-Blue celebrated groundbreaking sporting successes in his time, such as third place in the Grand Prix of Aachen under Andreas Kreuzer. He has immortalized himself with impressive frequency and accuracy in the pedigrees of numerous currently most successful show jumping horses in the world. Chacco-Blue is one of the most important sires in modern breeding history.
The visionary Paul Schockemöhle recognized quite early the quality of the scopey Chacco-Blue and paired him with Narew xx-daughter Karewa at his Lewitz stud. Chadino comes from the first crop of Chacco-Blue.
Chadino’s dam sire, the thoroughbred Narew xx attracted with his noble type and his long-lined, harmonious conformation, but also with his heredity-power in view of his show jumping qualities. Chadino, whose conformation is very pleasing thanks to his excellent foundation and harmonious lines, strongly resembles the breeding influence of Narew xx. With a Thoroughbred percentage of 49.41%, Chadino fully meets today’s demand for athletic, blood type horses for modern show jumping. In third and fourth generation, Domino and Gepard can be found – well-known as successful perfect genetic pairing (Passerpaarung) which was often used by Paul Schockemöhle, especially.
Chadino’s immediate family includes highly successful international show jumpers. His dam, Karewa, produced another top international athlete, Chacna, with successes up to 1.65m. Ridden by Enrique Gonzales/MEX, Chacna reached the final of the Pan American Games and placed 5th in the prestigious Nations Cup at the CSIO5* Spruce Meadows in Canada. They also finished ninth in the 1.65m Grand Prix at the CSIO5* Wellington/USA.
Another daughter of Karewa is Chadina by Conthargos. Ridden by Mckayla Langmeier of the USA, Chadina also shows an impressively long list of international wins and placings up to 1.60m. Two other offspring of Karewa have achieved success up to international 1.45m and 1.40m courses. With Charewo PS by Conthargos, Karewa also produced another licensed son. Granddam Karinia, by Domino, gave birth to Sakrus HG, internationally successful up to 1.55m. This dam line, originally from Belgium and further continued at Gestüt Lewitz, has produced numerous international world-class sport horses.
Since the genetically highly interesting Chadino has focused on sports throughout his life, we are very pleased to be able to offer fresh and frozen semen of this very special Olympic stallion to our breeders around the world.
Chadino is homozygous for dark colour.
