Description

Curtiss Kittyhawk inspires with his enormous springiness and extremely likable, supple type. Beautiful, highly modern, thoroughbred-typed and correctly built – that’s why this young athlete leaves nothing to be desired in view of type and conformation. In the jumping-lane, this young prospect impresses with firm vision and extreme regularity of motion in jumping that goes through the entire body, showing also an ideal, natural opening of the hindquarters. This special talent is deeply anchored in Curtiss Kittyhawk’s genes, originating from one of the most successful Oldenburg show jumper lines.

The outstanding name Curtiss Kittyhawk was chosen visually oriented to the original model of a highly successful fighter jet of the US Airforce: Extremely smooth body, very skilful with attentive cleverness and very fast reactions, keeping always an eye on the jump – that’s why Curtiss Kittyhawk reminds us of a lightning-fast manoeuvrable high-flyer. Furthermore, this youngster’s profile gets completed by three very good basic gaits as well as an excellent conformation. Under the saddle Curtiss Kittyhawk pleases with the mentioned outstanding vision, which was already proven on the occasion of his licensing. Additionally, he is distinguished with a fine rideability as well as a perfect willingness to work. We are really excited about the further sporting development of this special young stallion!

His sire Checkter impressed with outstanding quality and attitude. U25-rider Leonie Böckmann rode this elegant grey stallion from success to success at the highest international show jumping level, meaning up to four-star 1.55m-classes. Later, Checkter achieved many international placings under the Irish Olympic rider Cian O’Connor.

The dam’s sire Lazio attracted as world-class athlete in a class of his own. He was already celebrated German Bundeschampion under Gilbert Böckmann; then, Lazio dominated the international show-jumping scene with victories in 1.60m-classes. Under the US American Olympic rider Lauren Hough, and later under Margie Goldstein-Engle, Lazio collected countless achievements on international show grounds like CHIO Aachen or the CSIO5* Hickstead.

Cordalmé, one of the most successful show jumper-makers of his time, is found in third generation. He was successful up to internationale1.60m-classes under Gilbert Böckmann and is anchored in the pedigrees of countless top show jumpers such as the licensed and internationally successful sons Check In/ Samantha McIntosh (NZL) and Couleur Rubin/Ludger Beerbaum as well as serial winner of many grand prix, Corlanda OLD/Mario Stevens.

Curtiss Kittyhawk’s special quality, his brilliant attitude and cleverness in the jumping-course have been fixed as traits in his sport-proven dam line for many generations. His dam La Bostella celebrated herself international advanced (S) level successes under Thomas McDermott (AUS).

Granddam Christina gave even birth to four internationally successful sport horses named Lieschen/Benedikte Serigstad-Endresen (NOR), successful up to 1.60m-classes, the 1.50m-class successful Luna Lovegood/Lars Vollmer (GER), the 1.40m-class successful Louboutin/Maximilian Pohen (GER) as well as Curtiss Kittyhawk’s dam La Bostella.

Great granddam Hagranja (by Grannus) impressed also with her enormous power of inheritance. Her both licensed sons Landettico, who succeeded in 1.60m-classes under Daniel Meech (NZL), and Tailormade Confidence, who collected ribbons in 1.50m-classes under Sören Pedersen (DEN), attracted attention just like her son Lamborghini, who placed with the best in 1.55m-classes under Jessica Mendoza (GBR).

Great great granddam Harnett (by Harnish/Trakehner) delivered, already in the year 1979, the 1.60m-class successful Garfield for his later rider Franke Sloothak.

Origin of this great success is the Oldenburg dam line of Lebussa, which is also known for countless advanced (S) level successful show jumpers such as the international top 1.60m-class successful show jumpers Coldplay/ Fredrik Jönsson (SWE), The Dude/ Will Simpson (USA), Quidam MB/Adrienne Sternlicht (USA), Blue Balou/ Angelos Touloupis (GRE) and Salitos/ Rebecca Conway (USA).
