James Brown knew to convince the show-jumping experts at the DSP stallion licensing in Munich. The phenomenal free-jumping didn’t only inspire the licensing committee, but also Richard Vogel, who is currently Germany’s most successful show-jumping rider, ranked among the top ten in the world-ranking of show-jumping riders. In cooperation with David Will and Bonhomme stud, Richard Vogel snapped the Munich Champion Stallion as future sport prospect.
Originating from a French dam line, James Brown is gifted with top international genes. Therefore, he is also for breeding a very interesting candidate.
“In view of springiness and scope this stallion, who is large-framed and also knows how to move nicely, can’t be beaten”, commented the sport commissioner Andy Witzmann the result of the Munich licensing committee. “This is a stallion and an athlete just the way we envision one”, he resumed. Commentator Maximilian Weishaupt, an internationally highly successful show-jumping rider, is also attracted by James Brown’s “lush scope, great type and perfect manner with very much vision in the jumping-lane. An exceptional stallion!”
With his very masculine appearance and great self-carriage in every phase, this stallion knows well how to present himself in view of type as powerful athlete for the jumping-course. James Brown’s free-jumping is characterized by much ability and a lot of strength and elasticity. Especially his natural strength in the back as well as the energetic push-off at the jump predestine James Brown for a promising sports career. Furthermore, there is a special quality of movements, which underlines the willingness and talent of carrying-power. James Brown also attracted with his vision in the jumping-lane as well as his inner calm and relaxedness, which makes him very likeable in the daily interaction. For a youngster not natural, but James Brown really knows how to concentrate perfectly his strength and energy to use them specifically for his sports exercises.
His sire James Blue is now successful in 1.45m-classes in the USA. Still young, he is still advancing for a great sports career under US rider Cathleen Driscoll. After only a short time in breeding in Germany, the Zirocco Blue son attracts with high impact in inheritance. Two times in a row he presented the DSP champion stallions in Munich. Both stallions stood out due to their nearly perfect overall impression and their extremely scopey jumping.
Dam’s sire is the Darco-son Latour VDM. He inspired as champion stallion at the BWP licensing. Celebrated for his great appearance as well as his powerful jumping, Latour is also highly interesting in view of his genes. His dam, Everlychin de la Pomme, who succeeded at Grand Prix level under Shane Sweetnam (IRE), gave also birth to the world-class stallion Kassanova de la Pomme/Koen Vereecke (BEL).
In third generation, Wunderboy van de Zuuthoeve, full brother of the Belgian top sire Thunder van de Zuuthoeve, can be found. Wunderboy collected prices in the international sport up to 1.50m-classes. But already at the age of seven he won the bronze medal at the WC for young show-jumpers at Zangersheide stud in Lanaken/BEL.
When bred to Zinedream, James Brown’s dam Latoura, delivered the champion stallion of the 2023’ DSP stallion licensing in Neustadt, where he was sold for 70,000 Euro to South Africa.
Granddam Finess vd Caquelle gave birth to Dragonball, competing internationally up to 1.50m classes for Spain. Origin of this success is a French dam line, which is also known for the 4*-level successful sport horses Songe Bleu des Vatys/Jean Luc Mourier (FRA) as well as the international eventing stars Quiproquo des Vatys/Alexandra Tett (USA) and Prince des Vatys/Alexis Lemaire (FRA).
